Daikin AC Repair in Banashankari
Daikin units diagnose themselves better than almost anything else on the market — the error code on the remote will usually tell an experienced technician the answer before the panel comes off.
Banashankari is a quieter, established south Bengaluru residential area along Kanakapura Road, with a mix of independent houses and mid-rise apartments. Visits here tend to be straightforward, with less traffic-related delay than the IT-corridor areas.
W2 is an independent appliance repair company. We are not an authorised Daikin service centre and have no affiliation with Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd.. If your ac is still under manufacturer warranty, contact Daikin directly first — that service is free to you. We are the option once the warranty has run out, or when you want a second opinion or a faster visit.

- Cassette FCF series
- VRV / VRF indoor units
- Ducted concealed splits
- Floor standing units
What usually goes wrong on a Daikin ac

Read the code first — Daikin tells you what is wrong
Daikin builds one of the better self-diagnostic systems in the industry. Point the remote at the indoor unit, hold the cancel or inspection button, and the unit cycles through codes until it lands on the stored fault. That single step saves a great deal of guesswork, and it is why a Daikin diagnosis should be quick — if a technician starts pulling panels before reading the code, they are working harder than the machine requires.
U0 is the code that stops people over-buying. U0 means refrigerant shortage. It is unambiguous: the unit has measured a low charge and shut down to protect the compressor. What it does not tell you is where the gas went, and that is the part that matters. Refrigerant is not consumed. A U0 means there is a leak somewhere — flare joints first, then the coil — and recharging without finding it produces the same code in a few weeks or months. The code makes the diagnosis easy; it does not remove the need to fix the cause.
R32 changes the recharge procedure, and that has a cost implication. Most current residential Daikin systems use R32, which is mildly flammable and, importantly, cannot simply be topped up. Because it is a single-component refrigerant it is more forgiving than blends in that respect, but correct practice is still to recover the remaining charge, evacuate the system properly with a vacuum pump, and weigh in the exact factory charge — not to guess by pressure and add until it feels right. That takes longer and requires the right equipment. A quote that is dramatically cheaper than everyone else's for a Daikin gas job usually means the shortcut is being taken, and an incorrectly charged inverter system runs inefficiently and stresses the compressor.
Where the money actually goes. Daikin PCBs are among the more expensive boards in the residential market, so distinguishing a real board failure from something cheaper matters more here than on most brands. A6 points at the indoor fan motor, C4 and C9 at thermistors, H6 at the compressor position sensor, U4 at the communication line between indoor and outdoor units — and U4 is frequently a damaged interconnecting cable or a corroded terminal rather than either board. Rodent damage to outdoor wiring is a real cause in ground-floor and terrace installations in Bengaluru, and it is cheap to fix once identified.
Daikin error codes we see most
U0 | Refrigerant shortage The system has detected a low charge and shut down to protect the compressor. There is a leak — flare joints first, then the coil. Recharging without locating and repairing the leak will bring the same code back within weeks. |
U4 | Indoor–outdoor communication The two units cannot talk to each other. Often the interconnecting cable or a corroded terminal rather than a failed board, and rodent damage to outdoor wiring is a genuine cause here. Worth eliminating before any PCB is quoted. |
A6 | Indoor fan motor The indoor fan is not reaching commanded speed, or is locked. Sometimes a jammed blower wheel or a dropped connector rather than a failed motor, so it is checked mechanically before the motor is condemned. |
C4 / C9 | Thermistor fault A temperature sensor is out of range — C4 on the heat-exchanger pipe, C9 on the return air. These are inexpensive parts, but until replaced the unit cannot regulate and will cool erratically. |
H6 | Compressor position sensor The outdoor unit cannot detect compressor rotor position and will not start it. Points at the position-detection circuit on the outdoor board or the compressor itself, so it needs proper testing rather than assumption. |
E7 | Outdoor fan motor The outdoor fan is not running correctly. Debris jamming the fan and failed capacitors both produce this, and both are far cheaper than the motor — check them first. |
F3 | Discharge pipe overheat Discharge temperature has gone too high. Usually a consequence of low refrigerant or a badly fouled condenser coil rather than a fault in its own right, so the cause is upstream of the code. |
A5 | Freeze-up protection The indoor coil is icing and the unit has cut out to protect itself. Restricted airflow from a dirty filter or blower, or a low charge, are the two usual causes. |
How the visit works
You call or WhatsApp, we confirm a slot, and a technician reaches you in Banashankari — usually the same day for bookings before 4 PM. The diagnosis is free. You get a written quote before any work starts, and nothing is opened up or replaced until you have approved it. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the same fault; replaced parts carry the manufacturer's or supplier's own warranty.
Questions from Banashankari customers
Do you cover both Banashankari stages (1st to 6th Stage)?
Yes, all Banashankari stages. Let us know your stage and nearest cross-road when booking.
Is W2 an authorised Daikin service centre?
No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from Daikin Airconditioning India. Daikin's own warranty on compressors and inverter parts runs for several years — if yours is still covered, use Daikin's channel, because an outside repair can void it. We check before quoting.
How do I read the error code on my Daikin?
Point the remote at the indoor unit and hold the cancel or inspection button. The display cycles through codes and settles on the stored fault. Tell us that code when you book and we will often know what parts to bring before we arrive, which turns two visits into one.
My Daikin shows U0. Can you just top up the gas?
We can recharge it, but U0 means the system measured a low charge, and refrigerant is never consumed — so there is a leak. We leak-test and repair first. A recharge on its own will bring U0 back within weeks or months, and you will have paid for gas twice.
Why is a Daikin gas charge more expensive than for other brands?
Most current residential Daikin systems use R32, which should be recovered, evacuated under vacuum and weighed back in to the exact factory charge rather than topped up by pressure. That needs the right equipment and takes longer. A quote well below everyone else's for this job usually means that procedure is being skipped, and a mischarged inverter system runs inefficiently.
The unit shows U4 — is a PCB gone?
Not necessarily, and it is worth resisting that conclusion. U4 is a communication failure between indoor and outdoor units, and the interconnecting cable, a loose or corroded terminal, or rodent damage to outdoor wiring account for a large share of them. Given what Daikin boards cost, eliminating the wiring first is worth the diagnostic time.
Is W2 an authorised Daikin service centre in Banashankari?
No. W2 is an independent appliance repair company and is not authorised by Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd.. If your ac is still under manufacturer warranty, use the brand's own service channel first — you will not be charged. We are the option for out-of-warranty machines, second opinions, and faster turnaround.
