Hindware Kitchen Chimney Repair in Banashankari
Most Hindware chimneys we attend do not have a broken part at all — they have three years of accumulated grease and a duct that was never right from the day it went in.
Banashankari is a quieter, established south Bengaluru residential area along Kanakapura Road, with a mix of independent houses and mid-rise apartments. Visits here tend to be straightforward, with less traffic-related delay than the IT-corridor areas.
W2 is an independent appliance repair company. We are not an authorised Hindware service centre and have no affiliation with Hindware Home Innovation Ltd.. If your kitchen chimney is still under manufacturer warranty, contact Hindware directly first — that service is free to you. We are the option once the warranty has run out, or when you want a second opinion or a faster visit.

Most chimney faults are not faults
Across every brand, the majority of the chimney call-outs we attend for "no suction" or "it has stopped working properly" involve no failed component whatsoever. It is worth saying that plainly, because a great many people are sold motors they did not need.
Grease is the first answer, and it is cumulative. A chimney in an Indian kitchen handles a workload that hood designs generally do not assume — daily tempering in hot oil, regular deep frying, high-heat cooking that aerosolises a great deal of fat. That grease coats the baffle filters, then the inside of the hood, then the blower wheel, and finally lines the duct itself. Each layer costs airflow. Because the loss is gradual, nobody notices a bad month; they notice three years later that the chimney does nothing. A genuine deep clean — filters, hood interior, blower wheel, housing and collector, not a wipe of the visible surfaces — restores most of it. Baffle filters need washing every three to four weeks for this not to happen in the first place.
The duct is the second, and it is an installation problem rather than a fault. Airflow is lost to every bend and every metre of run. A chimney ducted the long way around a false ceiling with three or four elbows can lose a large share of its rated capacity before the air ever gets outside, and it will have done so from the first day it was switched on. If a chimney has never worked well, this is almost always why, and no amount of servicing will change it — it needs the duct shortened or re-routed. The non-return flap at the outlet is the related classic: seized shut with congealed grease, it leaves the chimney working against a sealed pipe.
Mounting height is the third. Too high and the chimney cannot capture the plume before it spreads across the kitchen; too low and it is a hazard over a gas hob. There is a correct band, and hoods fitted to suit a cabinet line rather than the hob frequently sit outside it.
What genuinely does fail. Motor bearings, announced by a whine or rumble that worsens over weeks — cheap to fix early, expensive once seized. The motor capacitor, which gives you a motor that hums but will not start and is regularly misdiagnosed as a dead motor. The touch panel or PCB, giving a chimney that will not respond while the motor is perfectly healthy. And the auto-clean heating element, which fails quietly and leaves you with a chimney whose auto-clean cycle does nothing at all.
How the visit works
You call or WhatsApp, we confirm a slot, and a technician reaches you in Banashankari — usually the same day for bookings before 4 PM. The diagnosis is free. You get a written quote before any work starts, and nothing is opened up or replaced until you have approved it. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the same fault; replaced parts carry the manufacturer's or supplier's own warranty.
Questions from Banashankari customers
Do you cover both Banashankari stages (1st to 6th Stage)?
Yes, all Banashankari stages. Let us know your stage and nearest cross-road when booking.
Is W2 an authorised Hindware service centre?
No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from Hindware Home Innovation. If the chimney is still in warranty, use Hindware's own service channel first, because an outside repair can void the cover.
My chimney has no suction. Do I need a new motor?
Usually not. In most of these call-outs nothing has failed — accumulated grease on the filters, hood and blower wheel plus a restrictive duct account for the majority. A proper deep clean and a duct check should always come before a motor is quoted, and they cost a fraction as much.
The chimney has never worked well since installation.
That points at the duct or the mounting height rather than the appliance. Every bend and every extra metre of ducting costs airflow, so a long run with several elbows loses much of the rated capacity from day one. Servicing will not fix an installation problem — the duct needs shortening or re-routing.
The motor hums but the blower does not turn.
That is the classic failed-capacitor symptom, and it is commonly misdiagnosed as a dead motor. The capacitor is an inexpensive part and the motor is usually fine. It is worth insisting the capacitor is tested before accepting any motor quote.
The auto-clean cycle runs but nothing seems to happen.
The heating element that liquefies the collected oil has probably failed. It fails quietly — the cycle still runs and the timer still counts down, so nothing looks wrong. It is a contained repair, and it is worth doing because without it the oil simply stays in the blower housing.
