Kent RO Service and Repair in Bangalore
Kent's mineral RO deliberately puts some dissolved minerals back after purification — and understanding that is what tells you whether your water genuinely needs attention or just tastes different.
W2 Home Appliances is an independent multi-brand service centre. We are not an authorised Kent service centre and are not affiliated with, appointed by, or endorsed by Kent RO Systems Ltd.. "Kent" and all other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the appliances we repair. If your unit is still inside the manufacturer warranty, use Kent RO Systems Ltd.’s own service channel first — an outside repair can void that cover, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.

TDS, membranes and what Bengaluru water does to both
Kent built its brand on mineral RO — the idea that stripping water to near-zero dissolved solids removes minerals along with the contaminants, so a controlled proportion of the original water is blended back through a TDS controller. Whatever you make of the health argument, it matters for service because it means a Kent is supposed to produce water with some measurable TDS. A reading of 40 or 60 is not a failing membrane.
Which brings us to the number that gets misused. TDS measures dissolved solids in total; it does not distinguish harmless calcium from anything harmful. A salesman with a TDS meter showing your output at 80 is not demonstrating that your purifier has failed. The reading that actually matters is the ratio between input and output. If your supply comes in at 700 and the purifier delivers 60, the membrane is doing its job. If input is 700 and output has climbed to 300, the membrane is genuinely spent. We measure both and show you both, because a single output number in isolation is the oldest sales trick in this industry.
Bengaluru's water shortens membrane life, and that is not a fault. Large parts of the city — the southern and outer belts especially — run on borewell supply with high hardness and high dissolved solids. An RO membrane rated for a few years on municipal Cauvery water may last considerably less on hard borewell input, because it is simply doing more work. The pre-filters matter enormously here: the sediment and carbon stages exist to protect the membrane, and skipping them to save money is a false economy that shortens the life of the most expensive component in the machine.
The parts that actually fail, in order. Pre-filters are consumables on a schedule. The membrane follows, on a schedule set by your water rather than the calendar. The SMPS adapter and the booster pump are the two electrical failures we see most — no water production at all, with the machine apparently dead or humming without output. The UV lamp has a finite life and, importantly, keeps glowing after it has stopped being effective, so "the light is on" tells you nothing about whether it is still disinfecting.
On service contracts. Annual plans can be reasonable, but read what is actually included: many exclude the membrane, which is the expensive part. We do not sell contracts. We tell you which components are due, what they cost, and what your water is doing to them.

Kent RO Service and Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.
Is W2 an authorised Kent service centre?
No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from Kent RO Systems. If your purifier is inside its warranty or an active Kent service plan, use that first — you have already paid for it.
My TDS reading is 70. Does my purifier need service?
Probably not. Kent's mineral RO deliberately blends some dissolved minerals back after purification, so an output in that range is by design rather than a fault. What matters is the ratio: if input is 700 and output is 70, the membrane is working well. Judge it on input versus output, never on the output figure alone.
How often does the RO membrane need replacing in Bengaluru?
It depends on your water, not on the calendar. On borewell supply with high hardness the membrane works considerably harder than on Cauvery supply and will need replacing sooner. We measure your input TDS and the current output, show you both, and tell you where the membrane actually is rather than quoting a standard interval.
The purifier is on but no water is coming out.
The two most common causes are the SMPS adapter and the booster pump. A dead adapter leaves the machine unresponsive; a failed pump leaves it apparently powered but producing nothing. A jammed float valve or a blocked pre-filter can also stop production, and both are cheaper, so they get checked first.
The UV lamp is glowing, so is the UV working?
Not necessarily. UV lamps keep emitting visible light long after their output at the germicidal wavelength has dropped below what is effective, so a glowing lamp proves nothing. They have a defined service life and should be replaced on that basis. It is one of the few components where you cannot tell by looking.
90-day service warranty, on every job.
If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
