W2 Home Appliances is an independent multi-brand service centre. We are not an authorised Bajaj service centre and are not affiliated with, appointed by, or endorsed by Bajaj Electricals Ltd.. "Bajaj" and all other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the appliances we repair. If your unit is still inside the manufacturer warranty, use Bajaj Electricals Ltd.’s own service channel first — an outside repair can void that cover, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.

In depth

Simple inside, which is mostly good news

A Bajaj storage geyser is about as uncomplicated as a modern appliance gets: a lined steel tank, a heating element, a thermostat, a thermal cut-out, an anode rod and a pressure relief valve. There is no control board, nothing to lose communication with and no proprietary electronics. That simplicity is the reason most Bajaj repairs are inexpensive, and it is the reason we can usually tell you what has failed from the symptom alone.

No hot water at all is the element or the thermostat. Those two account for the overwhelming majority of Bajaj call-outs, and both are inexpensive parts fitted in a single visit. The thermostat is tested first because it is cheaper and quicker. In Bengaluru's hard-water areas the element is the more likely of the two, because scale insulates it, makes it run hotter, and eventually cracks the sheath.

Slow heating is the same story earlier. When water starts taking noticeably longer, that is scale accumulating rather than anything having failed yet. Descaling the element and the tank at this stage is cheaper than replacing the element after it fails, and it is worth doing while the geyser is still working. Most people wait.

Tripping the MCB is the one to take seriously. A geyser that trips the breaker, or gives any tingle at the tap, has current finding its way into the water — nearly always a failed element. Switch it off at the isolator and leave it off. It is a cheap repair and a real electrocution risk, and resetting the breaker to get one more hot shower is genuinely dangerous.

The point at which we will tell you not to repair it. Because these are budget units, the economics turn faster than on premium brands. A leaking tank on any geyser is terminal — corroded steel cannot be safely repaired. But even short of that, on a unit that is several years old and needs an element, a thermostat and a descale together, the total starts to close on the price of a new geyser that will come with a fresh warranty. We will say that plainly at the diagnosis. It costs us the job and it is the right advice.

On instant heaters the common failure is the flow switch rather than the element — the unit simply does nothing when the tap opens, because it never registers that water is moving.

FAQ

Bajaj Geyser Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.

Is W2 an authorised Bajaj service centre?

No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from Bajaj Electricals. If your geyser is still in warranty, use Bajaj's own service channel first — an outside repair can void the cover.

No hot water at all. What is it likely to be?

Almost always the heating element or the thermostat. Both are inexpensive parts fitted in one visit. The thermostat gets tested first because it is cheaper and faster to check; in hard-water areas the element is statistically the more likely of the two.

The geyser trips the MCB. Is that dangerous?

Yes. It usually means the heating element has failed in a way that lets current into the water, which is an electrocution risk rather than a nuisance. Switch it off at the isolator and leave it off until it is repaired. Do not keep resetting the breaker to get one more shower.

Is it worth repairing an old Bajaj geyser?

It depends what is due. A single element or thermostat on a working tank is well worth it and inexpensive. Where it stops making sense is an older unit needing an element, a thermostat and a full descale together — the total approaches a new geyser that comes with a fresh warranty. We will give you that comparison before you decide.

My instant heater has stopped working entirely.

On instant units the flow switch is the usual culprit rather than the element. It is the part that senses water moving and tells the heater to fire, so when it fails the unit simply does nothing when you open the tap, with no warning signs beforehand.

90-day service warranty, on every job.

If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
