Geyser Leaking Water Repair in Bangalore
Where a geyser leaks from decides everything: a dripping relief valve is routine and cheap, while a weeping tank means the appliance is finished.

Where the leak is coming from decides whether it is worth fixing
Geyser leaks fall into two categories with completely different outcomes: leaks from fittings and valves, which are routine and inexpensive, and leaks from the tank itself, which mean the appliance has reached the end of its life. Identifying which you have is the entire diagnosis.
The pressure relief valve. Every storage geyser has one, and it exists to release pressure as water expands when heated. A small amount of dripping from it during a heating cycle is normal and by design -- many people report this as a fault when the appliance is working correctly. Continuous or heavy discharge is a different matter and usually means the valve has failed, the thermostat is allowing overheating, or the incoming mains pressure is too high for the appliance. The valve is cheap; the important part is establishing which of those three is driving it, because a valve replaced without addressing excessive pressure will just fail again.
Inlet and outlet fittings. The threaded connections at the top or side. These weep when the sealing tape or the connection has degraded, and resealing them is straightforward. Corrosion at these fittings is common where dissimilar metals meet.
The heating element gasket. The element seals into the tank against a rubber gasket. It perishes with heat over years and starts weeping around the element flange. It is an inexpensive part and is normally replaced whenever an element is changed.
The tank itself. This is the one that ends the conversation. Storage tanks corrode from the inside out, protected by an internal glass or enamel lining and a sacrificial anode rod. When the lining fails and the steel corrodes through, water weeps from the body of the tank -- and there is no repair. Welding or sealing a domestic geyser tank is not a safe or lasting fix on a pressurised vessel. Replacement is the only answer, and we will tell you that rather than take money for a patch.
The anode rod. Worth knowing about. It corrodes sacrificially so the tank does not, and on many geysers it is replaceable. Nobody ever checks it, which is a large part of why tanks fail when they do.

Geyser Leaking Water Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.
My geyser drips from a valve when heating. Is that a fault?
A small amount of dripping from the pressure relief valve during a heating cycle is normal and by design -- water expands as it heats and the valve releases that pressure. Continuous or heavy discharge is a genuine fault.
Water is weeping from the body of the geyser. Can it be repaired?
No. A leaking tank means the internal lining has failed and the steel has corroded through, and welding or sealing a pressurised domestic tank is neither safe nor lasting. Replacement is the only real answer.
How do I tell a serious leak from a minor one?
By where it comes from. Leaks at valves, threaded fittings or the element flange are routine and inexpensive. Water appearing from the tank body itself, rather than any joint, means the appliance is finished.
What is an anode rod and does mine need replacing?
It is a sacrificial rod that corrodes so the tank does not. On many geysers it is replaceable, and almost nobody ever checks it -- which is a significant part of why tanks eventually corrode through and fail.
The relief valve keeps discharging heavily. Is replacing it enough?
Not on its own. Heavy discharge usually means either the thermostat is allowing overheating or your incoming mains pressure is too high. Replace the valve without addressing that and the new one will do the same thing.
90-day service warranty, on every job.
If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
