W2 Home Appliances is an independent multi-brand service centre. We are not an authorised Voltas service centre and are not affiliated with, appointed by, or endorsed by Voltas Ltd.. "Voltas" and all other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the appliances we repair. If your unit is still inside the manufacturer warranty, use Voltas Ltd.’s own service channel first — an outside repair can void that cover, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.

In depth

Where Voltas units actually fail in Bengaluru

Voltas has the largest installed base in the country, and volume changes what a technician sees. Over a few hundred call-outs the pattern is clear, and it has more to do with how units are installed and maintained in Bengaluru than with anything wrong with the brand.

Most "not cooling" calls are gas, and most gas losses are at the flare joints. Refrigerant is in a sealed circuit and is not consumed — if a unit is low, it is leaking. On split systems the overwhelmingly common leak point is the flared copper connection where the indoor unit's pipework meets the outdoor unit, and whether that joint holds for a decade or a season is decided in the first hour of the installation. A flare cut slightly off-square, or a nut torqued by feel rather than to spec, leaks slowly for months. This is why we leak-test before we recharge. A gas top-up without finding the leak is a repeat visit sold as a repair, and it is the single most common thing customers tell us they have paid for more than once.

Water dripping inside is almost never a leak in the coil. It is the drain. The evaporator sheds condensate into a small pan and out through a pipe that runs downhill to the outside. In Bengaluru that pipe collects dust, insect nests and algae, and once it is blocked the pan overflows into your room. Clearing it is routine. The other cause is an indoor unit that has never been level — a couple of millimetres of tilt the wrong way sends the water to the wrong corner of the pan, and it drips from the day it was installed.

The blower is what makes it loud and weak. The squirrel-cage blower behind the indoor unit's front panel accumulates a dense felt of dust that no filter clean reaches. Airflow drops, the room stops cooling properly, and the unit gets noticeably louder. Owners read weak airflow as low gas and buy refrigerant they do not need. A proper jet-wash service that pulls and cleans the blower wheel — not just a filter rinse — restores it. On a Bengaluru unit running through summer, that is worth doing annually.

On the electronics. Inverter models carry a PCB in the outdoor unit exposed to heat, rain and voltage swings. Board failures are real but over-diagnosed: a sensor, a capacitor or the outdoor fan motor produces similar symptoms for far less money, and all three should be tested before a board is quoted.

FAQ

Voltas AC Service and Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.

Is W2 an authorised Voltas service centre?

No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from Voltas Ltd. If your unit is still inside Voltas's warranty, particularly the long compressor cover, use their own service channel — an outside repair can void it. We check the installation date before quoting.

How often does a Voltas AC really need gas?

It should never need it on a schedule. Refrigerant sits in a sealed circuit and is not consumed. If a unit is low there is a leak, and on splits that is usually a flare joint at the pipe connection. We leak-test before recharging, because a top-up without a leak repair is a repeat visit rather than a fix.

Water is dripping from my indoor unit. Is that a gas leak?

No — it is condensate. Either the drain pipe is blocked with dust, algae or an insect nest, or the indoor unit is not level so water runs to the wrong corner of the drain pan and over the edge. Both are inexpensive to put right and neither involves refrigerant.

The AC runs but the airflow is weak. Do I need gas?

Usually not. Weak airflow with a unit that still runs points at the blower wheel, which packs with fine dust that filter cleaning never reaches. A full service that removes and washes the blower restores it. Buying refrigerant for this symptom is one of the most common ways people waste money on an AC.

How often should a Voltas AC be serviced in Bengaluru?

Once a year for most homes, twice if you run it heavily through summer or live near a main road or a construction site where dust load is high. A service means coil and blower cleaning and a drain check — not a gas top-up, which should only ever happen after a leak has been found and repaired.

90-day service warranty, on every job.

If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
