AC Indoor Unit Repair in Bangalore
The indoor unit is the part of the AC you actually feel and hear every day -- so when something's off, it's usually noticed here first, even when the underlying cause sits elsewhere in the system.

The indoor unit's most common faults, explained
Everything you interact with on an AC day-to-day -- the airflow you feel, the display you glance at, the swing louvers -- lives in the indoor unit, which is why faults here get noticed fastest, even when several of them are actually easy, low-cost fixes.
Blower wheel issues. The blower wheel pushes cooled air into the room, and over time it accumulates dust and, in humid conditions, sometimes mould on its fins -- both reduce airflow and can add a musty smell to the air coming out. A clogged or unbalanced blower can also cause a rhythmic noise as it spins. Cleaning it properly usually means removing it rather than just spraying through the front grille.
Evaporator coil problems. This coil is where the actual cooling happens, and it's prone to two issues: dust and grime buildup restricting airflow and encouraging mould growth, and -- less commonly -- a refrigerant leak at the coil itself, which is harder to repair than a joint leak and sometimes means coil replacement rather than a simple seal.
Sensor and control faults. A temperature sensor reading incorrectly can cause the AC to cycle oddly -- stopping too early, running constantly, or displaying a temperature that doesn't match the room. This is a small, inexpensive part but causes symptoms that look like much bigger problems if misdiagnosed.
Display and swing motor issues. A flickering or dead display, or louvers that don't swing or respond to the remote, are usually isolated faults -- either the display unit itself or the small swing motor -- that don't affect cooling but are still worth fixing for full function.
Drain pan and float switch. Some indoor units have a float switch that shuts the unit off if the drain pan is too full, as a safety measure against overflow. A faulty float switch can cause the AC to stop working intermittently even when drainage is otherwise fine -- an easy miss if you're not specifically checking for it.
How often to check the indoor unit yourself. A quick filter clean every 4-6 weeks during heavy use keeps the blower and coil from getting overloaded between full services. It takes a few minutes, doesn't need a technician, and is the single easiest thing you can do to delay most of the faults covered on this page.

AC Indoor Unit Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.
Why does my AC's indoor unit smell musty?
Usually mould or bacterial buildup on a damp evaporator coil or blower wheel, especially if the filter hasn't been cleaned recently. A proper coil and blower clean resolves this in most cases.
My AC display isn't working but it still cools fine -- is that urgent?
Not urgent for cooling, but worth fixing since you lose the ability to see settings and any error codes the unit might otherwise show. Usually an isolated display panel fault.
Why do the swing louvers not move anymore?
Typically a worn or failed small swing motor behind the louver, unrelated to the rest of the unit's cooling function -- a straightforward, low-cost repair.
Can a dirty blower wheel really affect cooling?
Yes -- a clogged or unbalanced blower reduces the volume of cooled air actually reaching the room, so the AC can be working fine internally but still deliver weak airflow.
Does indoor unit repair require removing it from the wall?
Most repairs -- coil cleaning, blower access, sensor and display work -- can be done with the unit mounted, opening front and rear panels. Full removal is rarely needed except for major coil replacement.

If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
