LG AC Service and Repair in Bangalore

LG's Dual Inverter compressor carries a long warranty and rarely fails — so on an LG that has stopped cooling, the useful question is almost always which cheaper part failed in front of it.

W2 Home Appliances is an independent multi-brand service centre. We are not an authorised LG service centre and are not affiliated with, appointed by, or endorsed by LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.. "LG" and all other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the appliances we repair. If your unit is still inside the manufacturer warranty, use LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd.’s own service channel first — an outside repair can void that cover, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.

In depth

The CH codes, and what LG's compressor warranty really means

LG's Dual Inverter compressor is genuinely reliable and comes with a long warranty — typically ten years on the compressor part. Two things follow from that, and both are worth knowing before you accept a quote.

First, the compressor is rarely what failed. When an LG stops cooling, the far more likely candidates are the outdoor PCB, a thermistor, the outdoor fan motor, a capacitor, or refrigerant that has leaked out at a flare joint. All of these produce a unit that does not cool, and none of them costs anything like a compressor. Any diagnosis that reaches for the compressor first is skipping the probable answers.

Second, when it genuinely is the compressor, that is LG's job and not ours. If the unit is inside the warranty period, the compressor part is covered and you should use LG's service channel. We check the manufacture date at the diagnosis visit and tell you. It is worth being clear that the warranty covers the part only — gas, labour, the board and everything else remain payable, so "covered under warranty" and "free repair" are not the same sentence.

The CH codes make this quicker. LG's error codes are specific enough to point at a subsystem rather than just "something is wrong". CH01 and CH02 are the room and pipe sensors — cheap parts, easily replaced. CH05 is a communication failure between indoor and outdoor units, and on outdoor installations in Bengaluru the cause is often the interconnecting cable, a water-ingressed terminal block, or rodent damage rather than either board. CH10 is a locked indoor fan, frequently a blower wheel jammed with debris. CH21 and CH22 report an inverter power-module fault or compressor overcurrent, and those genuinely do point at the outdoor board or the compressor — but even there, a badly fouled condenser coil that makes the compressor work against excessive head pressure can trigger overcurrent on a perfectly healthy system. Cleaning the coil is checked before condemning anything.

Do not ignore repeated tripping. An inverter unit that starts, runs for a few minutes and cuts out with an error is protecting itself. Repeatedly resetting it and forcing it to try again is how a recoverable sensor or airflow problem becomes a damaged power module. If your LG is cycling on an error, stop restarting it and get it looked at.

Error codes

What your LG error code is telling you.

These are the codes we are called out for most often. A code names the circuit that failed a self-test — it is a starting point for diagnosis, not a part order, and the same code can have a ₹0 cause and a ₹6,000 cause.

CH01 — Room sensor

The indoor room-temperature thermistor is open or shorted. Inexpensive part; until it is replaced the unit cannot regulate and will over-cool or refuse to run.

CH02 — Pipe sensor

The indoor coil pipe sensor is out of range. Same class of fault as CH01 and similarly cheap, but it also disables freeze protection, so it should not be left.

CH05 — Indoor–outdoor communication

The two units have lost communication. Check the interconnecting cable, the terminal block for water ingress and corrosion, and for rodent damage on outdoor runs before anyone quotes a board.

CH06 — Outdoor pipe sensor

The outdoor unit's pipe thermistor has failed. Cheap sensor, but the outdoor unit cannot manage defrost or protection logic correctly without it.

CH10 — Indoor fan locked

The indoor blower is not turning at the commanded speed. Usually a jammed blower wheel or a failed fan motor. Debris and dust packing are common causes and are cleared mechanically.

CH21 — Inverter power module

The IPM on the outdoor board has reported a fault. Genuinely points at the outdoor PCB or compressor — but a heavily fouled condenser coil can trigger it on healthy hardware, so coil condition is checked first.

CH22 — Compressor overcurrent

The compressor drew more current than allowed. Low refrigerant, a blocked condenser or a failing compressor all produce this. Do not keep resetting it; repeated overcurrent trips damage the power module.

CH53 — Communication / wiring

A signal-line fault between indoor unit and outdoor unit. As with CH05, wiring and terminals are the first suspects rather than the boards at either end.

FAQ

LG AC Service and Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.

Is W2 an authorised LG service centre?

No. We are an independent multi-brand service centre with no affiliation to or appointment from LG Electronics India. If your AC is inside LG's warranty — the compressor cover typically runs ten years — use LG's own channel, because an outside repair can void it. We check the manufacture date at the diagnosis.

My LG AC is not cooling. Is the compressor gone?

Very probably not. The Dual Inverter compressor is one of the more reliable parts in the system. Outdoor PCB faults, a failed thermistor, a dead outdoor fan motor, a weak capacitor and refrigerant lost at a flare joint all produce the same symptom for far less money, and they should all be eliminated first.

Does the 10-year compressor warranty mean the repair is free?

No. It covers the compressor part only. Labour, refrigerant, the control board, sensors and fan motors are all payable, and those account for most AC faults. We identify the failed component first so you know whether LG's warranty is relevant to your particular repair at all.

What does CH05 mean on my LG?

The indoor and outdoor units have lost communication. Before accepting a PCB quote, have the interconnecting cable, the terminal block and the outdoor wiring checked — water ingress, corroded terminals and rodent damage cause a large share of CH05 calls and cost a fraction of a board.

The unit starts, runs a few minutes, then trips with an error.

Stop resetting it. That behaviour is the unit protecting itself, usually from low refrigerant, restricted airflow or a sensor fault. Every forced restart makes the compressor and the inverter power module take another overcurrent event, which is how a cheap fault turns into an expensive one.

90-day service warranty, on every job.

If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
