Software faults on smart TVs, and how to tell them from hardware
A smart TV is a computer with a screen attached, and it has the failure modes of a computer -- which are quite different from those of a television. Recognising a software fault saves you paying for hardware you do not need.
Storage is the usual culprit. Most smart TVs ship with very little internal storage, and app updates consume it steadily. Once storage is nearly full, everything degrades: menus lag, apps crash on launch, updates fail silently. Why has my smart TV become so slow?
