The honest economics of replacing a TV panel
The panel is the single most expensive component in a television -- typically well over half the cost of the whole set when bought as a spare. That fact drives everything about this repair, and any technician who does not lead with it is not being straight with you.
Physical damage is almost never economic to repair. A cracked or impacted screen means a new panel, and by the time you add the panel cost, labour and the risk of damaging other components during the swap, you are usually past the price of a comparable new television. There is no repair for a cracked LCD or LED panel -- the liquid crystal layer and the glass are a sealed assembly. Anyone offering to 'fix' a cracked screen cheaply is not doing what you think they are.
But make sure it really is the panel. Several faults look like panel failure and are not. Vertical or horizontal lines across the picture are frequently a loose or failed ribbon cable between the T-Con board and the panel, or a T-Con fault -- both far cheaper. A picture with the colours inverted or badly distorted is usually T-Con. Half the screen black, with the other half normal, can be a failed row driver but can equally be a connection. These deserve proper testing before the panel is condemned.
Dead or stuck pixels. A handful of dead pixels is not a repairable fault; it is a manufacturing characteristic, and manufacturers publish thresholds below which they will not accept a warranty claim. Spreading patches of dead pixels indicate a failing panel.
When it is genuinely the panel. We will tell you the actual cost of the part for your specific model, alongside what a comparable new set costs, and let you make the decision with real numbers. On larger and more premium sets the maths occasionally does work out. On mid-range sets it very rarely does.
Before you replace the set. If you are moving to a new TV, it is worth knowing that the old panel has no meaningful salvage value but the boards sometimes do.

TV Screen & Panel Replacement in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.
Can a cracked TV screen be repaired?
No. The panel is a sealed glass and liquid crystal assembly, so a crack means replacing the whole panel -- there is no repair for the damage itself. Anyone offering a cheap fix for a cracked screen is not doing what you would expect.
Is replacing a TV panel worth the cost?
Usually not. The panel alone typically costs more than half the price of the set, and with labour added it generally exceeds the price of a comparable new television. We will give you the real figure for your model rather than a vague answer.
I have vertical lines on my screen. Is the panel gone?
Not necessarily, and this is worth testing properly. Lines are frequently caused by a loose or failed ribbon cable between the T-Con board and the panel, or by the T-Con board itself -- both much cheaper than a panel.
Are a few dead pixels repairable?
No, individual dead pixels cannot be repaired, and manufacturers treat small numbers as a normal manufacturing characteristic rather than a defect. Spreading patches of dead pixels are a different matter and indicate a failing panel.
Half my screen is black. What causes that?
It can be a failed row driver on the panel, which is not economically repairable, but it can equally be a connection or T-Con fault, which is. It needs proper diagnosis before anyone quotes you for a panel.
90-day service warranty, on every job.
If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
