Fridge Not Cooling Repair in Bangalore
A fridge that runs but doesn't cool has around six realistic causes, and gas leakage -- the one most often blamed -- is well down the list rather than at the top.
Fridge Not Cooling Repair in Bangalore — what we check and fix.
- Condenser coil cleaning and airflow check
- Start relay and overload protector testing
- Compressor operation and current draw testing
- Evaporator fan motor diagnosis
- Thermostat and temperature sensor testing
- Defrost system failure and ice blockage diagnosis
- Refrigerant leak detection before any gas work
- Door gasket seal testing
Six reasons a fridge stops cooling, in the order they actually occur
'The fridge needs gas' is the most common thing customers are told and one of the least common things actually wrong. Refrigerant sits in a sealed system -- it is not consumed by running, so if it is low there is a leak, and topping it up without finding that leak simply means paying for the same job again in a few months. Here is what a technician checks first.
Dirty condenser coils. The coils at the back or underneath shed heat, and when they are blanketed in dust and kitchen grease they cannot. The compressor then runs continuously and still fails to bring the temperature down. This is a cleaning job, it costs nothing in parts, and in dusty Bengaluru kitchens it is a genuinely frequent cause.
The start relay and overload protector. This small component next to the compressor is what gets the compressor started. It fails far more often than the compressor itself. The signature is a fridge that clicks every few minutes and never runs, or hums briefly and cuts out. It is an inexpensive part, and it is frequently misdiagnosed as compressor failure -- which is a vastly larger bill.
The evaporator fan. In frost-free models a fan circulates cold air from the freezer down into the fridge compartment. When it fails you get the classic split symptom: freezer still frozen, fridge section warm. People often assume this means low gas. It does not.
Defrost system failure. If the defrost heater, bimetal or timer fails, frost builds into a solid block over the evaporator until air can no longer pass through it. Again the freezer stays cold while the fridge warms up. Manually defrosting for a day restores cooling temporarily, which is a strong diagnostic clue rather than a fix.
The thermostat or sensor. If the control believes the cabinet is already cold enough, it simply stops calling for cooling. Straightforward to test, easy to replace.
Refrigerant leak. Real, but last on the list. Proper repair means locating the leak, repairing it, evacuating the system and charging by weight -- not connecting a can and hoping.

Fridge Not Cooling Repair in Bangalore — frequently asked questions.
My fridge is running constantly but not cooling. Why?
Most often the condenser coils are choked with dust so the heat cannot escape, meaning the compressor runs without ever reaching temperature. A failed evaporator fan or an ice-blocked evaporator produce a similar pattern.
The freezer works but the fridge section is warm. What is that?
That specific split almost always means air is not moving from the freezer into the fridge compartment -- a failed evaporator fan, or frost blocking the evaporator because the defrost system has failed. It is rarely a gas problem.
Does my fridge need gas refilling?
Far less often than people are told. Refrigerant is in a sealed system and is not used up by running, so low gas always means a leak. Any gas work without leak detection first is money that will need spending again.
The fridge clicks every few minutes but never starts. What does that mean?
That is the classic signature of a failed start relay or overload protector -- an inexpensive part next to the compressor. It is commonly misdiagnosed as compressor failure, which is a far more expensive repair.
Can I do anything before the technician arrives?
Check that the door seals properly and nothing is blocking the internal vents, and if you can safely reach the coils at the back, see whether they are thick with dust. Do not defrost it first if you can avoid it -- the ice pattern itself is useful diagnostic evidence.
90-day service warranty, on every job.
If the exact same fault returns within 90 days of the visit, we fix it again at no charge — written on your digital bill, not just promised verbally. Replaced parts also carry the supplier's own part warranty on top.
